FIFA 21 Icons are one of the most anticipated announcements ahead of the new Ultimate Team season.

FIFA 20 introduced multiple new players including Zinedine Zidane who was the cover star of the Ultimate Edition of the game. Other players like Gianluca Zambrotta, Michael Essien and more became fan favorites throughout the year. It seems fans already have a taste of what's to come in FIFA 21 for new Icons.

FIFA 21 Icons: Eric Cantona Confirmed as New Icon in Ultimate Team

EA Sports announced FIFA 21 details for multiple modes including Ultimate Team. Fans were excited by the news with more to come, but one image got the community extra excited.

Eric Cantona was featured on a promotional image for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. EA Sports all but confirmed him as a new Icon, but it's pretty telling that he's on a promotional image. Additionally, he was in the game's latest trailer where a group of friends open an Ultimate Team pack and get a French center forward Icon. After the pack opens, Cantona himself appears with the phrase "Icon Cantona."

Cantona, like the rest of the icons, will have a base, middle, prime and Moments version. It's unknown who else will be added, but fans have Xavi, David Villa, Samuel Eto'o, Oliver Khan and more on their wish lists.

FIFA 21 launches Oct. 9.
